Glass vessels ascend, starting on the left, from ashes to bone to bark to a living flower and then down again to ash, continuing to the ground where composted soil, moss and grasses hold found objects including a deer skull and pelvis, femur bones and shells. The glass vessels reference the historical containers within which alchemy takes place.

This piece bears witness to the last minutes of George Floyd’s life in which he called out to his Momma in what has been termed a “sacred invocation”. To further quote Lonnae O’Neal: “To call out to his mother is to be known to his maker. The one who gave him to her”.
This is for the Mommas who have to say goodbye everyday.
